Exhibiting

The Shop can be used as a formal or informal exhibiting space. The Shop operates two exhibition schemes:

The Wall Gallery

There is a rolling programme of exhibitions that utilise one of The Shop's walls. We charge a fee of £20 per week, and a reduced price for members, and take 25% commission.

Interested artists should send an image of their work to The Shop. We are happy to accept applications in advance. Priority is given to those planning site-specific displays that consider the function and aims of the shop.

Hire of The Shop Gallery

During the summer holiday (late June to October), Christmas Holiday (early December to January) and Easter holiday the shop is available for hire. The fee for this hire is £700 per 4 weeks (or £200 per week). Artists or groups are responsible for the curation of exhibitions (although curators and gallery assistants can be arranged and hired through our list of contacts).

Interested artists should apply in writing using the attached form. We are happy to accept applications in advance. Priority will be given to those planning site-specific displays that consider the function and aims of the shop. Applications may be made at any time of the year, but it should be noted that arrangements are usually made 9 months - one year in advance

Start Again

...will be this year's student exhibition at The Shop.

As part of our varied programme of professional exhibitions we are dedicating a show during May Week to include solely the work of students of Cambridge University.

We are looking for soundscapes, videodromes, charcoal sketches and large sculptures, canvasses and pencil works are welcome. If you would like to perform, we would make space. The windows must be filled - the place is ours to utilise so be thinking now of what you might like to submit.

We would like to decide what will be in the show by week one of Easter, so please have your submissions ready for the beginning of term.

Further details will follow, in the meantime please write to us at theshop.xviii.jesuslane@googlemail.com with any questions or ideas.
