There are many things both big and small that you can do for The Shop

One of the most important things we need in volunteers - both to man the space during the day and to help with all the work behind the scenes, but if you are worried about having too many time commitments then there are many things you could do as a one off!

Many of these may seem very small or silly but every little helps in organising the space...

There are many more little things you can do to be part of our community, so please email us with any questions.

Regular Volunteering Opportunities

The Shop cannot survive without the help of the local community, below are some new roles at The Shop for 2009. If you are interested or would like a general chat about volunteering then please email us and we'll get back to you soon.

STEWARDING

We need people to steward our gigs, concerts and events. The role involves simple health and safety jobs and would involve helping out no more than once a fortnight for one evening. You would be trained and get to go to the event for FREE!

This is a great role to do in a pair or set of four!

OPEN STUDIOS INVIGILATORS

Want to use The Shop space to create your own work? Find that it is not open at times that suit you? By becoming an open studio invigilator you or your group can have the space open to do your own work and allow increased access for the community. All you have to do is look after the space, do a few minimal effort jobs during your session and watch over other members who come to use the space.

Commitment can be anything from 1hr per week to a few hours to a day!
