The Stitch Up
On Thursday nights local fashionistas and those with a penchant for costume and textile design will be able to attend ‘The Stitch Up’ – which will feature a social mix of making, talking and creating, with help and advice from ‘The Stitch Up Girls’. The Stitch Up host regular textile workshops… The aim of ‘The Stitch Up’ is to provide a forum where members of the local community can meet, share ideas, support work in progress and make new contacts in an informal and inclusive environment. Textiles practice is the vehicle in which we aim to facilitate the project but through this medium other performing and visual arts will be addressed and represented.
From Late July ‘The Stitch Up’ will be running weekly open studio sessions that alternate between creative costume design and more practical making textile / costume / fashion / craft focussed sessions. They will be based at 'The Shop' on Jesus lane in the heart of Cambridge. The studio space is a former shop which has been redesigned as a creative arts space. The gatherings will be open to all – ages, genders, students, locals, professional and non professional makers, those with a lot or a little experience. For more information please email us with the header 'Stitch Up'.
